Plans for February & beyond
Sat, Jan. 25th, 2025 01:57 pmHey y’all! Just some notes on my current plans for February and beyond. These are the plots I intend on wrapping up:
After these three plotlines are wrapped up, I would love to pivot the game into a slower more slice-of-life and sandbox format. This will be a much more relaxed format and focused more on character interactions and providing a space for people to write their lines, and less community-wide plotline oriented. I’d love to have a space for writing characters and their arcs in a long-term fashion, without the level of energy required to run (or keep up with, as a player) multiple plot events per month. My vision is that I will continue to provide a month overview of happenings in the community and environment which players will be able to use as prompts for their characters’ own plotlines however they’d like to.
I have two broad concepts for this post-Summit-plot phase of the game. The first is a direct continuation of the events of the game, with the focus being the characters working on the construction of the supercommunity. Monthly plot prompts would focus on scavenging and gathering resources and specific projects.
The second is doing a one-year time jump, with the focus of the community prompts focusing more on day-to-day post apocalypse life in the supercommunity of Lowl. I think this would provide a good opportunity to re establish characters, write off any characters who will not be continuing on, and generally do a soft reboot. Monthly plot prompts would focus more on the human drama of the town rather than action or adventure.
Thanks again for hanging with me! I know things have been a little slower-paced since the holidays, but I’m hoping we can all settle into a more relaxed low key rhythm. Let me know your thoughts, especially vis-a-vis no time jump vs time jump if you're interested in staying on after the resolution of the Summit plotline.
The Peace Summit plot will continue the meeting at Whitney this week, which will be the last business-as-normal meeting. The February meeting at Lundegaard will serve as a trial for Roswell, where his punishment will be decided.
The Feral Cougar plot will be wrapped in February with an action-oriented event.
The Red Talon/Fairfield group plotline will be wrapped throughout February with a final confrontation occurring in Early March.

Tue, Dec. 3rd, 2024 03:12 pmHELLO. IT IS ALEX. I have joined JJ in the four character pit because you can't stop me tbh. Also I really wanted to bother the Lundegaardians.
So THIS is Candi Flume. She's Henry's youngest sister and she is 😎😎 a handful. Real baby sibling energy, would absolutely have been left to die if she didn't have her entire family protecting her from the apocalypse.
Just gonna bullet point some facts about her. I'm happy to just figure out how they interact in game though if you want!
OK THANK YOU THAT'S HER SORRY FOR HER EXISTENCE

- 21 years old, she baby
- Local! From Hobson Falls. My bad for playing two locals who went to the same high school lmfao.
- Plays a handful of instruments! Hates quiet protocols because she wants to play her goddamn music REALLY loud.
- Partially deaf in her left ear and it's nbd but she will use it to ignore people.
- Will call herself a widow despite being married for like nine hours when her husband got zombied. Whatever, she couldn't spell his last name anyway.
- Gonna work on the ranch. Which she hates. But what the fuck else is she even doing with her time.
OK THANK YOU THAT'S HER SORRY FOR HER EXISTENCE
Secret Santa Draws
Thu, Nov. 28th, 2024 12:39 pmFew Notes!
Draws happened after dinner at Lundegaard Thanksgiving. Because they did this names-out-of-a-hat style, there is no IC organizer. People are free to divulge their assignments as they so choose, but they are meant to keep them a secret until the gift exchange, which is scheduled to happen at Prescott's Winter Holiday celebration on the 21st of December. People can trade their name slips IC if they want, but I'm not going to keep track of that. Best of luck!

Meme: Thoughts & Feelings

Meme: Thoughts & Feelings
This is the first of several worldbuilding & backstory memes I'll be running over the course of this game. This is a freeform space to develop and discuss your character's feelings about major plot events that have happened in the months since the outbreak. This is loosey-goosey! Feel free to say as much or as little as you want, I'm just looking to take a general temperature check on where characters' heads are at and hopefully flesh out some connections and motivations.
🧟 people & factions for sharing your opinions on the major npcs
🧟♀️ major events for major plot events which impact all four communities
🧟♂️ community events for other minor events which impact only certain communities
🧟 discussion/questions/etc

Pre-Game Plotting Post

Pre-Game Chatter Post
Hi everybody! I am so pleased and excited to welcome you all to State of Decay. This game has been a longtime labor of love for me, and I cannot wait to see what stories you all tell in the world I've curated for you.
While I will largely be running this game like the other collaborative journal games I know you all from, I'm also trying out some new things. Please anticipate a few growing pains as we try stuff, sort things out, and figure out what works. I am always looking for feedback & suggestions for improvement on how to streamline and organize things, so feel free to drop me a line if you have comments or suggestions. Thanks for bearing with me as I get my feet on the ground!
This game is currently closed to new players. Please don't hold, join our Discord, or comment on this post unless you've already been invited to join us.
